About Us

In 1991 a group of Corrections Deputies got together and sponsored a Fishing Derby and Picnic for children from Doernbechers Children's Hospital, Shriners Hospital for Children and Emanual Hospital and thier families. This activity alone has proven to have tremendous physical and psychological benefits for children with serious illnesses and physical disabilities. This was the beginning of the Multnomah County Corrections Deputies Charitable Trust (MCCDCT). Over the years we have grown with support from the community. We have sponsored "Challenger" sports teams for physically challenged kids. During hte Holiday Season we assist "Santa Claus" by visiting children who will be spending their Christmas in Emanual Hospital. During these visits we give all children age appropriate toys, stuffed animals and books. We also provide what we believe to be the only "Easter Egg Hunt" in the Northwest for kids confined to wheel chairs and walkers.

All events and activities sponsored by MCCDCT are supported through donations including individual and community donations, a fundraising auction and a Christmas Bazaar. Please contact us for more information about becoming involved or making donations.
